Have run 22 marathons to date.

No injuries, ever.   :)

Short-Term Running Goals:

Qualify for Boston (4:05 for my age/gender) - or, perhaps, to use my desire for a BQ as a way to get in the hated speed work so I don't just get slower and slower over the years.  This goal is "under (re)construction" right now, until I figure out whether it is truly what I want. :)

Long-Term Running Goals:

To continue learning about myself and about running, and to enjoy being a fit, happy runner for life.   To always know why I am running and the best way to get the most (both mentally and physically) out of my runs.  To keep a sense of humor and remain optimistic about myself as a runner.  To enjoy running more and more with every passing year.

Personal:

Baby boomer generation.  Jogged a little in my 20's and 30's.  Started running seriously in 2002.  Low-carb runner since January 2010.

I love long runs and cold, cloudy weather.  I don't believe in "junk miles."  I am an optimist.  I adore dark chocolate, fog, my family, and knitting -- not necessarily in that order.

"As every runner knows, running is about more than just putting one foot in front of the other; it is about our lifestyle and who we are."  -- Joan Benoit Samuelson

26F, occasional falling flake, less than 1" snow on the ground (much more now). Yaktrax run!

Something about Yaktrax I don't like: they don't work as well on minimalist shoes. I can feel the straps/cords.  Still, very pleasant run. Some slippery spots w/ ice on the street, but easy to spot.

Introducing Pilot, my new cat - a little ball of love and fun.

Beautiful cat! You can see in his face he's ready to take charge of things.

Nicole - Pilot is almost 19 months old. His breeder named the whole litter after characters from some show called "Farscape." Never seen it myself but I ordered it on Netflix just so I could see who he's named after.

He is an absolute doll. Even the one negative behavior he has is pretty charming: if I tell him I'm leaving the room (he is sequestered in my bedroom for now) he launches his little body onto my leg, yowling. I have a deep scratch from the first time he did it and I wasn't prepared. Now I leave quietly. Bengals are super smart and do the cutest things. I'm teaching him to fetch.

Sno: Pilot is adorable!

I'm coming your way within the hour! Want to run tomorrow? I believe I'll be in seattle area until Wednesday night.

Oh my goodness - I hope you have 4 wheel drive! Thank you! For one thing, my running time tomorrow is 5-6:30 AM, so I'm not sure you want to schlep out here early enough for that. But honestly, I am so slow for you. Thanks for asking though! Drive safely!!!
